Federal Member for Hunter, Joel Fitzgibbon today visited Aberdeen Public School to turn the first sod on the site of the school’s new Hall and COLA as part of the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER). Aberdeen Public School received $2,000,000 under the Round 1 of BER.
Mr Fitzgibbon said that this project is part of the Rudd Government’s $42 billion Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan to support jobs, stimulate local economies and invest in important infrastructure for the long-term.
‘This is an exciting phase in the largest school modernisation program in Australia’s history,’ said Mr Fitzgibbon.
‘School communities, parents and tradespeople will work together to deliver these important projects, that once completed, will give our teachers and students the 21st century facilities that they so richly deserve.’
